Thrift Different

penniesforCHANGE is a program of Durham Crisis Response Center and specializes in women’s clothing, shoes, accessories (yes, jewelry), furniture and home decor.  penniesforCHANGE exists to support survivors by providing those sheltered with the items they need, at the time they need it.  penniesforCHANGE staff are educated in advocacy, to be a source of help should anyone need support.

penniesforCHANGE offers a refreshing retake on thrift shopping by offering space, light, nice merchandise, creative window displays, and quarterly best-of-the-best events.​

Donating to penniesforCHANGE

We accept donations of “Good Stuff” – it can be something you just bought, something you wore yesterday, or something you would wear today (if you weren’t donating it). If it’s good enough to lend to your best friend and clean enough to make your mother proud, we’d love to have it. Of course, vintage can be more worn.
