SUMMARY
Durham Crisis Response Center is seeking a dedicated full-time Crisis Case Manager to join our Crisis Services team in providing services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
As a Crisis Case Manager, you will play a pivotal role in assessing client needs holistically addressing emotional, social, and practical concerns, offering essential information and referrals to clients and their families, and formulating safety plans. Your expertise will be central in identifying, addressing, and resolving client crises through effective intervention and emotional support. You will collaborate with internal staff, community partners, and social service agencies to ensure comprehensive, trauma-informed assistance while upholding the highest ethical standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Help Line
- Operate and provide support for the 24-hour helpline.
- Participate in the Staff-on-Call (SOC) rotation to ensure continuous support.
- Provide hospital accompaniment during off-hours while on SOC duty.
- Conduct thorough follow-up on helpline calls.
Case Management
- Complete comprehensive intakes to gather essential client information.
- Develop and implement individualized plans for clients, including housing, safety, and financial stability.
- Offer direct assistance to clients on a walk-in basis, addressing both crisis and ongoing needs.
- Utilize case management tools to deliver effective crisis intervention.
- Participate in standardized case review meetings with the Crisis Center and Shelter teams to ensure a consistent, coordinated approach.
- Ensure all client records are current and that the data management system is accurately maintained for program tracking and reporting.
Intern Program
- Evaluate potential interns each semester; interview and collaborate with the Crisis Services director to determine placement.
- Coordinate with the Outreach Coordinator to ensure interns complete basic training; create and implement individualized job training plans and weekly activities.
- Monitor intern progress to ensure they receive appropriate hours and job exposure.
- Ensure interns are trained and ready to complete case management tasks within four weeks of their start date.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Master’s degree in human services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Two years of experience providing direct services, preferably in crisis intervention, domestic violence, sexual assault, or related advocacy work.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
While not required, an LCSW is recommended and preferred.

Volunteer Opportunities
DCRC is in great need for bilingual Spanish speaking volunteers &/or interns to assist with our Immigrant Services program. The primary need is assistance with our 24-hr helpline during the weekdays. The helpline is the main access point for client assistance. Calls can range from basic information and referrals to crisis intervention and case management. We offer on-site and remote training for those that are interested. Scheduling is flexible.
